Kwame McDonald


Kwame JC McDonald is currently the Assistant Director of the School Reform
Project of the Center for School Change, Hubert H. Humphrey Public Policy
Institute of the University of Minnesota.

The Central State (OH) graduate has been at the HHH Institute for
four years following a lengthy career as a youth and sports advocate,
high school and college educator, community activist,
state government administrator and photojournalist.

The former college administrator and instructor´s resume includes
tours at Rutgers University (NJ), New York University,
Shaw University (NC), Barber Scotia College (NC),
Sarah Lawrence College (NY) among others. He has served on
several local, state and federal government commissions,
committees and task forces.

Kwame hosts SPNN-TV Sports Rap and writes for
the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder newspaper.
He also served as a community columnist for the Saint Paul Pioneer Press.
He is the author of the book, Jim Griffin:Son of Rondo.

In addition to his duties at the Humphrey Institute,
McDonald is a consultant for the Kellogg Leadership for
Community Change Project, the Ramsey County Community
Services Department,Concordia University-Saint Paul (MN),
MIGIZI Communications, Inc., and MKB Associates, Inc.
In the mean time, he is writing three books, one of which is his autobiography.


After attending the University of Wisconsin Law School for two years,
he married Mary Palmer of Dayton, Ohio,
who is now a retired school teacher. They have
one son, Mitchell, a photo-journalist and high school teacher.
